With that, we decided to throw ten questions in front of a few professional riders and aftermarket people in the ATV industry. Here's what 1997 Professional GNC Champion, Shane Hitt had to say...

Hitt: Probably not.
ATV Scene: Do you think that ATV aftermarket companies are taking advantage of the efforts of their sponsored riders? If so how?
Hitt: No.
ATV Scene: What does a professional ATV
racer need to do in order to make a comfortable living?
Hitt: Quit racing ATVs.
ATV Scene: Why is it so difficult to field
an ATV racing team?
Hitt: The race machines are too expensive
for one rider much less a whole team.
ATV Scene: What needs to be done to accelerate
the sport further?
Hitt: The factrories need to make a production
ATV that people can race and ease the expense before it gets too incredibly
expensive to race - like it is now.
ATV Scene: What ATV racing series has
the most potential money for a professional rider?
Hitt: Whatever series that a professional
sponsorship and marketing group is asigned to.
ATV Scene: What series is the most competitive,
(has the most talented riders)?
Hitt: GNCs without a doubt.
ATV Scene: What do you see happening in
the future of ATV racing?
Hitt: The future of the sport is in in
serious trouble. If the cost doesn't go down soon, people will not be able to
afford a competive race quad.
