Over 400 entries and picture perfect weather set the stage for Sunday's pro class battle at Blountville. Moto one left with Tim Farr (Baldwin/DG/Ferrell) leading the way in what was the roughest track in Muddy Creek National history. 2000 National Champion, Travis Spader (K&K/LoneStar), followed in second. JPMX's Jeremiah Jones (Sparks) passed his way by Bill's Pipes/Wide Open's Kory Ellis, who surprisingly rode his 250R, and T-Doc Spader. Meanwhile, up front - Farr was dealing with pro class rookie, Jason Luburgh on his TC YZF426. Luburgh has been pulling out all the punches and once again hung tuff with the best riders in the world. He would go on to take home a very respectable 5th place overall! At just about the half way point Spader dropped out with a flat tire. All the while, Jones passed Luburgh over the big step up tabletop for the two-spot. From there to the checkers, Jones annoyingly locked on Farr's shadow and never looked back. The veteran Farr tried everything to out maneuver his new shadow - Jeremiah Jones. "We seem to always be battling each other. It was no different this time out. It's hard to believe Jeremiah has only been riding pro for two years now. He's tough to shake", said Farr taking the win in moto one. Doug Gust and the now famous TC/Hinson Suzuki moved his way through the field from 12th to finish an extremely respectable 3rd place. Duncan Racing's Ben Jackson would have finished fourth, but he hit a bad rut and came off his quad. Joe Byrd (East Coast ATV) followed Gust in his stampede to the front to take the four-spot.

Moto 2 -- Farr out rides the pesky mosquitoes
Once again Tim Farr grabbed the holeshot and lead the pack up the hillside-starting
lane. This time "Digger" Doug Gust, Travis Spader and Jeremiah Jones
followed. Jones later disposed of Spader for 3rd -- allowing one of the best
races of the year to form. Jones aggressively rode in the wake of the monstrous
four-strokes of Farr and Gust, just waiting for a mishap of any kind. Just after
the halfway mark, Gust pulled along side of Farr on the approach of a tabletop
jump. As the two set sail through the air -- Gust landed first, took over the
lead and checked out to the finish. All the while, Joe Byrd charged hard through
the pack and ended up passing Jones to take 3rd place from JJ. Meanwhile, Farr
knew he had the overall if he could hold on to the two-spot. But could he hold
off the persistent Byrd in his sprint to the checkers? "Big" Byrd
looked aggressive and fresh as the race's end drew nearer. Byrd charged right
up behind Farr and wouldn't let the three-time GNC champ take the gold without
a battle. Byrd was all over Farr with one lap to go as the two jumped side by
side in mid air over the huge step up tabletop. Farr avoided the pass and motored
on with Byrd still stuck to his rear fenders. At the end it was Farr who hung
on to take 2nd place and the overall despite the nasty Byrd-like mosquitoes
buzzing around him all day long. "I certainly earned my win today! I had
constant pressure from some of the best in the business and I am proud to have
held them off. As always, consistency will be the key to the Championship,"
said Farr following the race. Farr now takes over the point's battle with Jones
right behind him in 2nd only 4 points back.
