KFX450R
Track-ready performance, woods-ready maneuverability
Riders looking for a race-ready, high performance ATV equipped with class-leading performance and technology straight out of the crate need look no further than the Kawasaki KFX®450R. Every component was chosen to maximize performance on the track or in the woods and put riders at the head of the pack with minimal fuss.
The KFX450R ATV uses a powerplant based on Kawasaki’s highly acclaimed KX™450F motocross engine. An efficient and highly-responsive 32-bit digital fuel injection (DFI) system automatically compensates for temperature or altitude. DFI also enhances the engine’s ability to generate torque in the low and medium rpm ranges for outstanding holeshot acceleration. This ATV’s ability to find traction is superb, and its four-stroke power delivery translates into hooked-up wheels for improved handling and higher corner speeds.
Other race-ready features include a lightweight titanium exhaust header pipe and a durable forged piston. The fast and reliable KFX450R was also the first competition-oriented ATV to include a reverse gear. Previously unheard of in racing, the KFX450R’s lightweight reverse system lets riders quickly extricate themselves from first turn chaos, dead-end trails or any other on-track incident.
Winning races requires a chassis that’s built to handle tough racing conditions. The all-aluminium frame provides light weight and incredible stiffness without sacrificing strength. The front suspension design utilizes long lower A-arms mounted to a single box-section lower frame tube. This results in outstanding suspension action from the frontend. At the rear, a cast aluminium swingarm provides the ideal balance of flexibility and rigidity. The high-tech chassis also features a low center of gravity and excellent roll resistance. Regardless of changing conditions or rough track surfaces, this race-oriented chassis makes the KFX450R a potent weapon in the battle for ATV supremacy.
The KFX450R is easy to work on, so riders can concentrate on winning instead of wrenching. The two-piece front and rear “lapped” fenders make it possible to customize the size of the fenders or replace damaged sections separately. Even the headlight assembly is quickly detachable for closed-course races, and the compact design means this ATV looks just as aggressive with or without headlights. These features leave little doubt that the new KFX450R was designed to get its rider on track and winning races as quickly as possible.

Brute Force 650 4×4
Big-bore performance and features at a mid-size price
When shopping for a nice mid-sized all-terrain vehicle (ATV), it’s easy to find choices with a reasonable purchase price, single-cylinder engine and four-wheel drive. However, ATV shoppers have a better option; the Kawasaki Brute Force® 650 4×4, the stand-out performer in this class. With Kawasaki’s legendary V-twin engine, a proven 4×4 system and rugged styling — for about the same price as the rest — its value is even more apparent to those seeking a sensible yet powerful 4×4 ATV.
Moving the Brute Force 650 4×4 along is Kawasaki’s popular liquid-cooled 633cc, 90-degree V-twin engine with single overhead cams and four valves per cylinder. It is fed by dual 32mm Keihin carburetors that draw fresh air from a snorkel intake located high in the frame near the steering head. This powerplant gives the rider plenty of industry-leading torque and an unrivaled smooth-running operation.
Matched to the robust V-twin engine is the fully automatic Kawasaki Automatic Powerdrive System (KAPS) continuously variable transmission (CVT). With low and high forward, neutral and reverse gears, this dependable transmission functions seamlessly, providing excellent control for both low- and high-speed work or recreational riding. Additionally, with the brakes applied the Brute Force 650 4×4 can be started in any gear.
Power is delivered to the wheels through dependable, low-maintenance shaft drive. The rider can select two-wheel or four-wheel drive operation via the handy switch mounted on the right handle bar. In normal four-wheel drive mode, the front wheels provide extra traction for adverse terrain, while the limited-slip differential allows the rider to make tight turns and reduces steering effort.
Best of all, with the Brute Force 650 4×4’s Variable Front Differential Control, the rider can deliver equal amounts of power to both front wheels by simply pulling a small lever on the left handlebar. This is a definite advantage for riders encountering deep mud and slippery uphill trails or when traversing over large objects such as logs or rocks.
The cutting-edge Brute Force 650 4×4 braking system design is a combination of dual front disc brakes with dual-piston calipers and Kawasaki’s sealed, oil-bathed, multi-disc rear brake system. As an integrated part of the shaft drive, the rear braking system is sealed in the aluminum swingarm where it operates in an oil bath. This protects the brake pads from mud, dust and debris, and is virtually maintenance-free.
Enhancing the high-performance brakes is the Kawasaki Engine Brake Control system, which electronically monitors ground speed and uses the engine’s compression to help slow the Brute Force ATV under certain conditions.
Plush and controlled rides are the Kawasaki 4×4 ATVs’ forte and the Brute Force 650 4×4 exemplifies this specialty. It does this with MacPherson strut front suspension with 6.7 inches of travel and an aluminum swingarm featuring a shock with adjustable preload, a piggy-back reservoir and 7.2 inches of travel for the rear suspension duties.
Additional comfort is provided by a large seat and adjustable footpegs mounted atop full-size floorboards. To help reduce unsprung weight and further enhance the smooth ride, the Brute Force rolls on aluminum wheels.
Leading the conveniences on the Brute Force 650 4×4 is a DC power outlet to provide quick and easy power for electrical accessories. Its fully digital instrumentation includes speedometer, odometer, dual resettable trip meters, clock, hour meter, fuel gauge and 2×4/4×4 indicators.
The modern, aggressively angled lines of its Thermo-Plastic Olefin, ultra-high gloss appearance and is scratch-resistant bodywork are complemented by bright cat-eye headlights. Kawasaki engineers also provided space inside the front guard to easily accommodate a 3000-pound capacity winch from Warn or Superwinch.
The Brute Force 650 4×4 also comes with front and rear steel racks that can carry a total of 264 pounds of cargo, and a hitch bracket that enables the ATV to tow up to 1,250 pounds. Owners can expand the versatility of their Brute Force ATV via the extensive line of Authentic Kawasaki Accessories, available through Kawasaki dealers.

Brute Force 650 4x4i
The ATV with a winning pedigree of power, suspension and big comfort
The middleweight choice in Kawasaki’s V-twin powered sport-utility all-terrain vehicle (ATV) family, the Brute Force® 650 4x4i offers refined power and handling. It combines a plush ride courtesy of its competent front and rear independent suspension with a superb four-wheel drive system and a durable and powerful 633cc V-twin engine to deliver a knock-out blow to its challengers.
Thanks to its 90-degree, liquid-cooled four-stroke V-twin engine, this ATV shines when the going gets tough. With ample low-to-mid range torque and high rpm power to meet challenges presented by the adventure enthusiasts and sportsmen. Less weight is always a good thing. To keep the pounds off, Kawasaki engineers used aluminum in the construction of the front exhaust pipe cover, two-piece center exhaust pipe cover, and the muffler cover. Among the other features designed into the Brute Force 650 4x4i to amplify its power-to-weight ratio are drilled transmission gears to lower their overall weight.
The Brute Force 650 4x4i gets the power from its V-twin engine to the wheels through a fully automatic, dual range continuously variable transmission (CVT). With low and high forward, neutral and reverse gears, this dependable transmission functions seamlessly, providing excellent control for both low- and high-speed work or recreational riding. Additionally, with the brakes applied it can be started in any gear.
Two- or four-wheel drive is selectable by simply pressing a handlebar-mounted button. In four-wheel drive, the rider can manage the amount of power to both front wheels with Kawasaki’s Variable Front Differential Control by simply pulling a small lever on the left handlebar. This is a definite advantage for riders traversing deep mud, slippery uphill trails or large objects such as logs or rocks.
The optimized caster angle for the front A-arms means the Brute Force 650 4x4i has light and responsive steering as well as excellent ground-following abilities. Shock absorber spring rates and initial preload settings for both front and rear are aimed at excellent ride comfort and are enhanced via the plush urethane seat foam.
It may be the slightly smaller one in Kawasaki’s stable of IRS-equipped ATVs, but it doesn’t sacrifice anything in the “looks” department. Like its brethren, the rugged, take-on-anything styling of the Brute Force 650 4x4i will both attract onlookers and satisfy owners.
Stopping the 650 4x4i is a combination of dual 200mm front discs and Kawasaki’s sealed, oil-bathed, multi-disc rear brake system. As an integrated part of the shaft drive, the enclosed rear braking system is sealed in the aluminum swingarm where it operates in an oil bath. This protects the brake pads from mud, dust and debris, and is virtually maintenance-free.
Enhancing the high-performance brakes is the Kawasaki Engine Brake Control system, which electronically monitors ground speed and uses the engine’s compression to help slow the Brute Force 650 4x4i under certain conditions.
The able ATV can pull a hefty 1,250 pounds, and it can carry a combined 264 pounds on its front and rear racks. Owners can expand the versatility of their Brute Force ATV via the extensive line of Authentic Kawasaki Accessories, available through Kawasaki dealers.
As with all off-highway vehicle recreation, Kawasaki encourages ATV riders to ride responsibly and to respect the environment. Kawasaki will pay first-time buyers of a new Kawasaki ATV $100 for completing an ATV rider safety course conducted by the ATV Safety Institute (ASI). Interested consumers can call ASI toll-free at 800-887-2887.

Brute Force 750 4x4i
The perfect union of fuel injected, big-bore power and 4×4 ATV capability
The leader of Kawasaki’s V-twin powered, sport-utility all-terrain vehicle (ATV) pack, the Brute Force® 750 4x4i retains its top status for 2009 by mating a hard-charging digital fuel injected V-twin engine to the plush ride supplied by its competent front and rear fully independent suspension and superb four-wheel drive system. Wrapped in aggressive bodywork, it’s the perfect choice for adventure enthusiasts and sportsmen alike.
The Brute Force 750 4x4i is driven by a powerful 90-degree, four-stroke, fuel injected V-twin engine. The 749cc, twin Electrofusion-plated aluminum cylinders are fed via 36mm throttle bodies controlled by a 32-bit CPU, which delivers the correct mixture based on coolant temperature, air intake temperature, throttle position, air intake pressure, vehicle speed and crankshaft angle. Its high-pressure fuel pump is located inside the tank and has a unique reservoir chamber at the bottom to help ensure air does not get into the fuel system.
The low spring rate for the throttle return springs and ball bearings in the throttle bodies translates into lighter feel at the throttle lever and less rider fatigue. Instantaneous fuel delivery and crisp engine response from the eight-valve engine make it a hit with sport riders. A high-efficiency radiator is mounted high in the chassis where it is best shielded from mud and debris.
The Brute Force 750 4x4i gets the power from its V-twin engine to the wheels through a continuously variable transmission (CVT) with low or high range, and reverse. The rider is able to select two- or four-wheel-drive operation simply by pressing a button on the handlebar. In four-wheel-drive mode, the Brute Force ATV utilizes a limited-slip front differential, which eases steering effort under most riding conditions. The rider can also engage the handlebar mounted Variable Front Differential Control lever to manage torque delivery to the right and left front wheels for maximum traction.
The front drive shafts of the Brute Force feature Cardan joints –an industry first. Similar to U-joints, Cardan joints help absorb torque fluctuations to the drive shaft, and the lightweight design helps to reduce vibration. The small and compact rear final gear case and sealed rear braking system were designed in conjunction with the IRS and are extremely rugged and efficient.
Dual front discs and Kawasaki’s highly acclaimed sealed rear braking system bring the Brute Force 750 4x4i to a quick halt. Completely sealed, the rear braking system’s components are protected from mud, dust and debris. Its compact size also provides more ground clearance than a conventional rear disc brake system. Enhancing the highly effective braking is the engine’s Kawasaki Engine Brake Control, which helps slow the ATV under certain conditions.
Ride comfort on the Brute Force 750 4x4i doesn’t come at the expense of sport performance. Dual-rate springs for the front and rear suspension permit the best of both worlds. A soft initial spring rate for the bumps at slower speeds and a firmer second rate to handle higher speeds comes into play as the springs are further compressed. Complimenting the suspension, the urethane foam in the seat is firm enough to be supportive yet provide plenty of comfort for long hours in the saddle.
The Brute Force 750 4x4i utilizes a simple, yet sturdy double-cradle tubular steel frame with front dual A-arms and IRS. The front dual A-arms feature adjustable shocks with 6.7 inches of travel, while the IRS employs a leading torsion bar and provides 7.9 inches of travel. A combination of needle bearings and ball joints in the lower rear A-arms gives the IRS unrivaled suspension action, stability and excellent rider comfort.
As if performance wasn’t enough, the Brute Force 750 4x4i can turn heads with looks alone with its polished 12-inch wheels. Clad in aggressive tires, the eye-catching wheels help give the ATV its 9.7 inches of ground clearance and transfer the awesome power of the V-twin engine to the ground.
The 750 4x4i’s front bumper is designed for easily manhandling the Brute Force when the need arises. Behind the bumper is the strong and tough angular bodywork constructed of high-gloss and scratch-resistant Thermo-Plastic Olefin (TPO). Underneath this bodywork is a factory-installed plastic conduit for easy winch installation.
The chassis balance is further optimized by the large five-gallon fuel tank beneath the seat. Keeping the weight in check are aluminum footpegs on the full-sized floorboards and lightweight cargo racks that can carry a combined weight of 264 pounds. The capable Brute Force can also tow 1,250 pounds.
It comes standard with a hitch ball bracket –all the customer needs is a standard hitch ball. Owners can expand the versatility of the Brute Force with a variety of Authentic Kawasaki Accessories available through Kawasaki dealers.
Its upright and comfortable rider position enhances the rider’s ability to interact with the Brute Force 750 4x4i, and scan the horizon and the easy to read automotive-style instrument panel. Other features include the waterproof storage box in the left front fender, and a storage compartment in the right front fender.
With high and low forward gears plus reverse, the CVT enables the engine to operate in its optimal rpm range, providing maximum torque regardless of speed or riding conditions.
The Prairie 360 utilizes a trustworthy shaft final drive, while dual front disc brakes and Kawasaki’s sealed, oil-bathed, multi-disc rear brake system bring the ATV to a controlled halt.
For additional stopping power, the Prairie 360 features the Kawasaki Engine Brake Control, which uses engine compression to help slow the ATV in technical maneuvers such as crawling at low speeds over rocks or descending steep downgrades.
The Prairie 360 rides on supple MacPherson strut suspension up front with 6.7 inches of travel, while rear suspension duties are handled by a sporty, single-shock aluminum swingarm delivering 7.1 inches of travel. It also features a large, comfortable saddle and full-sized floor boards with adjustable footpegs for maximum comfort.
Other conveniences include powerful dual halogen headlights and steel front and rear cargo racks that can carry a combined weight of 242 pounds. A hitch bracket is also standard, permitting the rider to tow 1,100 pounds. Owners can expand the versatility of their Prairie ATV via the extensive line of Authentic Kawasaki Accessories, available through Kawasaki dealers.

Prairie® 360 4X4
Dependable utility with all-terrain ability
The Prairie® 360 4×4 uses an advanced four-wheel-drive system to increase the versatility and fun factor of the baseline Prairie 360 platform. This combination gives farmers, ranchers and recreational users a practical ATV that’s ready to get dirty, haul heavy loads, or explore challenging terrain.
Moving the Prairie 360 4×4 ATV along is the steadfast 362cc air-cooled, single cylinder, four-stroke engine combined with Kawasaki’s continuously variable transmission (CVT). With high and low forward gears plus reverse, the CVT enables the engine to operate in its optimal rpm range, providing maximum torque regardless of speed or riding conditions.
The Prairie 360 4×4 ATV utilizes reliable shaft drive and gives the rider the added benefit of selectable four-wheel drive operation. At the flip of a switch, the Prairie 360 4×4 rider can engage all four wheels for added traction in adverse riding conditions. The Prairie 360 4×4 has a limited-slip front differential, so steering remains light and precise. When maximum traction is needed, the rider can utilize Kawasaki’s Variable Front Differential Control by pulling a lever on the left handlebar to send power to both front wheels. When maximum traction is no longer needed, the rider simply releases the lever—a simple and effective system.
Stopping power on the Prairie 360 4×4 is provided by dual front disc brakes and Kawasaki’s sealed, oil-bathed, multi-disc rear brake system. Further speed control is provided by the Kawasaki Engine Brake Control, which uses engine compression to help slow the ATV under certain conditions.
The MacPherson strut front suspension and a single-shock aluminum swingarm rear suspension give the Prairie 360 4×4 a supple ride with 6.7 and 7.1 inches of travel front and rear, respectively. It also features a large, comfortable saddle and full-sized floor boards with adjustable footpegs for maximum comfort.
Its steel front and rear cargo racks can carry a combined weight of 242 pounds. Other conveniences include powerful dual halogen headlights, and a hitch bracket is standard, permitting the rider to tow 1,100 pounds—the highest towing capacity in its class. Owners can expand the versatility of their Prairie ATV via the extensive line of Authentic Kawasaki Accessories, available through Kawasaki dealers.
