The sixth Maxxis 12 Hours of ATV America took place at Pro Motocrosser’s Cody and Hunter Miller’s “Quad Compound” in Greenville, Texas. To the approval of most, this year’s rules saw a major change. The new rule allowed each team member to ride their own individual ATV if desired. This was carried over from this year’s Maxxis 6 Hours of ATV America events where the new rule attracted more teams. This year over $24,000 purse money and $3600 in special awards were available. Also new for 2007 was the fact that every team regardless of pro or amateur status would be eligible for purse money if their team finished with a top ten overall position. The new multiple machine rule, the impressive purse, the non-threatening track and the warm Dallas, Texas weather all combined attracted nearly double last year’s attendance.12hrs007promo

The Track
Hunter Miller (with help from David Culpepper of ATVCCS fame) put together this year’s track. Their finished project ended up being a very well-liked 6 mile lap with plenty of high speed sections and multiple lines. The soil held up throughout the day and wear and tear on machines and bodies were minimal.liteboxad07ww

We’ll let the teams themselves tell more specific details about the race in the “Pit Talk” section later in this feature.

As for the shortened version of the race for the overall, it was business as usual for John Natalie, Chris Borich and Chris Bithell (aka Team Tom Clark Motorsports). After passing Aaron Meyer of Team Media Allstars, who pulled the holeshot and led the entire first lap, Team Tom Clark Motorsports dominated the event once again. Regardless as to what name is listed – if Chris Borich is on the team it’s almost a sure bet his team will end up winning the overall. This year was no different. After playing around with a few changes and wasting time in the impound area John Natalie decided to park his own Honda and ride the one prepared by Joe Borich (Chris’ father) since it was set up perfectly for the Greenville, Texas track. In the end Borich and team made it five overall wins in a row!12hrspdmbrch
