New Year’s Resolutions 2011
- Updated: January 9, 2011
For several years ATV Scene has collected New Year’s Resolutions from those who are brave enough to share their New Year’s commitments and goals with our readers.
Below is this year’s batch.
Be sure to comment to this feature with your own New Year’s Resolution.
Think of it as your official commitment to the task.
I am definitely excited about 2011. We will be rolling out to the WORCS series this year in a new set up, finally!
We have some new riders this year, and we are very optimistic about what will come in 2011. I also have some great ideas for Triumph and some really cool products coming out this year.
My New Year’s Resolution is not to stress so much about the declining economy. Obviously it has effected my business and many others. However, I want to be content with the success of what Triumph has achieved and to keep charging ahead at my own pace.
–Anthony Martin, Triumph Motorsports, Inc.
I want to bench 150 to 200lbs by the end of 2011, qualify for the Canadian track and field championships in Calgary and attend one ATV National and win a medal at this year’s Winters Games in Canada.
– Ben Brown, Disabled ATV Racer
ART Racing is continuing to support riders with disabilities. We hope to have a quad class at the Extremity Games in May. I will continue having fun racing Vet classes with riders like James Perry, James Voyles, and Terry Monroe. I will continue to mentor youth riders like Cody Shelton and Tanner Stockton. I also want to spend more time riding with my sons, I’m hoping to get Jorge Cuartas to manage my next Ironman effort, I want to take my family on a trip to New York City and finally get a website built for ART Racing. Oh and developing the next BIG widget device and becoming rich would be great as well. Have fun and be happy!
– Todd ~Ironman~ Macke, ART Racing
Make more Money!
– Erin Houser, Houser Racing
Praise God for all he has given me, Love my wife and daughter with all my heart, cherish my family and friends, and work hard to grow our business in 2011 through customer service and integrity.
— Steve Johnson, Director of Powersports Sales, CV Products and Xceldyne
Rehab my back and get into riding shape again!
– Matt Fredmonsky, Tarantula Performance Racing
I don’t really have any resolutions for next year, I dig how things are going in my life these days but I do have several goals for myself.
I will be racing and dominating all three SCORE Baja events with an epic team in Mexico, get my class B skydiving license, I want to create more artwork (in the industry and outside) and to ride ramps more often.
Since I finally graduated college recently, I probably should think about getting a real job and conforming to society instead of continuing to risk my life, painting alleys, and getting tattoos but none of that seems very rad to me yet.
– Unorthodox Adventurer, Zac Willett, Pro ATV Racer
I plan on graduating my Dental Assisting School and pursuing my career head on! All the while continuing to become a better rider on and off the track. I want to race the 2011 Dade City Motocross Series, so I can continue having that number one plate in the Women’s Quad class.
I also want to get more serious in the Amateur class and trying to win that Championship for the first time.
Finally, just for fun I would like to hit a few Nationals this year.
– Jessica “Shorty” Doherty #139
I know I’ve been saying this every year, but finally make an ATV racing comeback….
Also to better myself by setting multiple small goals and achieving them one by one.
And of course strive to assist in making ATV Scene.com the premier ATV enthusiast’s site that it once was.
– Jason Zittel, ATV Scene Contributor
My goals for 2011 are to keep having fun as much fun as possible while simultaneously promoting my amazing sponsors, and progressing as an artist, athlete and business owner.
I’m letting Clutch Industries lay idle until I get my new venture Thrill Village operational. Thrill Village is going to be an action sports brand proving safe haven for all action sports athletes to enjoy motocross, mountain biking, skateboarding, wake-boarding, etc… Thrill Village’s first facility will be a cable wake-board park slated to open the summer of 2011. I will be promoting my sponsors through the various action sports that I participate in, as well as racing my quad at select Nationals In 2011.
Thanks to all of my sponsors for your continued support: Lonestar Racing, Wakeology Wakeboards, Ogio, Scott USA, Skullcandy, PEP, KTM, TC Racing Engines and ATV Scene.com
— Ross Dantonio, Clutch Industries, Thrill Village
My New Year’s Resolution is to get out and watch a motocross race this year. I haven’t been to one in a few years and it would be great to see some old friends and see how fast everybody is going these days.
– Jimmy Elza, former Pro ATV Racer
Live life to the fullest with no regrets!
– Donna Beadle, External Relations Specialist/Polaris Off-Road Vehicles
My resolution is to get get JP away from his desk and out to the practice tracks and trails in Ohio.
– George Davis, ProBuilt Homes
Operate the best ATV Suspension Company in the industry with outstanding customer support and service in house and at the races!
– Santo DeRisi, President DeRisi Racing Inc.
Here’s Blingstar’s Resolution… Recession my ass, hurry up and go buy something!
— Clint Roberts, Blingstar Products Inc. Made In the USA
For 2011 from a personal standpoint I’m committed to getting healthy again, kicking ass at the adaptive games, and re-claiming my self imposed title of “Worlds Fastest One Legged Guy [AKA Super Gimp]”.
I want to be a good dad to my kids, and a better husband to my wife. From a work standpoint, I want to bring the Scene back to the top, make the Media Allstars the best amateur ATV Team on the planet, and ATV Rider Magazine the best print mag.
Getting healthy, and not taking health for granted will make it all possible.
– Jorge Cuartas, Media-Allstars.com, FreeAgentProductions.com, ATV Scene.com, ATV Rider Magazine, ATVRiderOnline.com, ATV Nationals.com
Have a Happy, Safe, Successful and Blessed 2011, from everyone at ATV Scene.com
