GNCC women’s class front runner – Brandy Crump passes on
- Updated: June 21, 2001
Sixteen year old, Brandy Crump, GNCC women’s class front runner and niece of GNCC pro – Curtis Crump, was recently killed in a car accident. Brandy was returning to her home in Hubbard, OH after visiting friends at Lance Simmons’ (son of 250A class fast guy – Dave Simmons) house in Painesville, OH.
Brandy and her cousin were both ejected from the truck that Brandy was driving at approximately 1 am on Wednesday morning June 20. Brandy’s cousin was in critical condition and now recovering. No alcohol was involved. Reports say that she probably fell asleep at the wheel.
We got a chance to meet Brandy and her mom, Cindy when the two “buddied’-up” for round-two of our Buddy-Up Cross Country Series. Brandy’s easy going, helpful, happy-go-lucky nature made it seem like we knew her for years instead of days. She instantly won over our hearts and we, like others that got to know her, sort of adopted her as our lil’ sis’ in the close-knit family that makes up ATV cross country racing.
Her helpful, happy, smiling face is forever how we’ll remember her, with that Fast-Trak Promotions will dedicate the Buddy-Up-Cross-Country-Series to the memory of Brandy Crump. We’re committed to running our series just as she lived her life. Brandy is sure to have a special place in heaven – God rest her precious soul and give us all the wisdom to live our life like she did hers.
Our deepest condolences go out to her family and friends.
