National Born Killers Video Review

ImageThe latest release from H Bomb Films, “National Born Killers” offers a unique look behind the scenes of the 2006 GNC national championship. While the GNC series is no longer the only player on the block, it is still the oldest and one of the most prestigious ATV racing series in the world. In a year that was defined by victory, tragedy and controversy Wes Miller was there to capture the story as only H Bomb Films could.

The movie offers a perfectly balanced mix of on track action and behind the scenes insight from racers and industry big wigs. Nothing was left out from the tragic injury of Jeremiah Jones, who will inspire you with his positive attitude, to the controversial yellow flag situation that many feel led to Joe Byrd capturing the title that had eluded him for years. The comments of one top racer regarding the incident will shock you!

Being a documentary more than an action flick, the editing is not as flashy as we have come to expect from the Huevos movies. However, the story layout and editing are first rate and each round of the series is followed by the results – making it easier to follow the placement of the riders throughout the season.

The only drawback to the movie is some of the footage used for the last two rounds of the year. All of the footage from Loretta Lynn’s and some from the final round at Ballance MX look like they were shot with a $500 consumer camcorder. H Bomb generally sets the standard with video quality so at first we thought our TV was on the fritz.

Overall we were extremely impressed with this film. If you were there, National Born Killers offers a great way to look back on the season. For those who are fans of racing but have never made it to a national the movie offers a look at the GNC series that is unequaled in the sport’s history!

In spite of a few minutes of low quality shots the movie is still very well put together and well worth the price of purchase.
