Reviewed..Carpe Diem

It’s an exciting time to ride ATVs. We have new high performance machines for the first time in over a decade, there are several video game tittles dedicated to our sport, and there are more and more action videos now available on the market. While we were at the Maxxis 12 Hours of ATV America, we caught the end of a video called Carpe Diem, meaning, “Seize the Day” in Latin. While we only saw the last five minutes, we saw enough to know that a more in depth viewing was in order, so we contacted Innervision Industries and ordered ourselves a copy directly.
Lights camera action.
First of all Innervision was able to gain the assistance of riders such as John Natalie, Tim Farr, Shane Hitt, August Goebel, Brock Lyons, Klint Anderson, Skyler Stewart, Pat Brown, Donald Lysinger, and Dave Sutherland. With a list of talent like that, Innervision definitely had a good slate to work with.
The movie kept us entertained for the entire 65 minutes. There are segments from the GNC nationals, Sand Fest in Oregon, some back yard track action, and plenty of messing around on pit bikes. We were stoked with all of the MX and freestyle segments, but if we could add one thing, we would like to see some GNCC action thrown in. Maybe in the sequel?
One of the things we liked best about this movie is how Innervision blends the sounds of underground bands with creative video editing effects to produce their own unique style. This movie has a hardcore underground feeling that makes us want to get out and ride. It looks like Innervision is dedicated to making their own niche, rather than walking in someone else’s footsteps.
Any complaints?
Only a few. There are a few segments that were out of focus. This was rare and the action helped make up for it, but it was still there. While we wouldn’t let this stop us from purchasing the movie, it’s still a small blemish on such a stellar first attempt. As we previously mentioned , we would like to see more woods action.
The bottom line
If you are a person who has to buy every video on the market you will want to put this near the top of the list. We are extremely impressed with Innervision Industries first action movie effort and look forward to Carpe Diem 2, or whatever they decide to call the sequel.
Who’s behind the madness?
Innervision Industries is owned by Iowa’s Brad Phillips. We contacted Brad to tell him our thoughts on Carpe Diem and ask him what Innervision’s plans are for the future. Brad tells us, “We have a lot of plans for the future. We have already begun production on an even better 2nd Carpe Diem (not sure of the title yet). We will be in Arizona and California for three weeks this Winter to shoot at Glamis, in Phoenix, and several other tentative locations with a lot of the top named pros. We will be attending nearly all of the GNC MX nationals and a select number of TT & GNCCs. We are also in the early development stages of a small clothing line (similar to Fox Racing). I don’t want to give away too much, but basically, we will be here for awhile!”
