After almost two months off from the QuadCross Series it was back to racing. This eighth round of the series would be held in Surprise, Arizona at a track called SpeedWorld. The QuadCross Series has been coming here for a few years. It always end up having the largest turnout of the year at this round. This year the rider count was about 230 quads and UTVs! Plus the latest stop on the series near Phoenix had another treat, Josh Creamer was there with the Kawasaki rig in full assault. It was nice to see the green ATV race team supporting the scene our west. Another easterner traveling all the way from Tennessee was Suzuki privateer, John Ragon.
The first moto holeshot went to Josh Creamer as he quickly got out front of the rest of the pack. Creamer was able to hold the first place position, but it was not long until Jeremy Schell closed the gap and made the pass around Creamer to take over the lead. I guess with the seven months off from racing Jeremy Schell got his act together and was riding better than ever. The Hick Schell was able to hold off Creamer for most of the race, but Creamer was able to make the pass back to take back the first place position. Meanwhile Yoshimura Suzuki’s Kory Ellis was running in the third place position, and quickly closing the gap on Schell. As the two battled for the runner up spot Ellis got a little too close for comfort. in fact he was so close when Schell threw his chain Ellis slammed into the back of him! While Schell and his team scrambled to get the chain back on he dropped a few positions. Josh Creamer went on to take the first moto win while Kory Ellis settled for the runner up spot. Landon Hurst grabbed the third position.
Moto Two
The second moto start went just as well for Creamer as the first. He grabbed the holeshot and the roy Bloodworth BigKidRacing.com $100 Holeshot award. There was a bad wreck off the start that consisted of Justin Noss and KC McKillp, but we are glad to say that they were both able to ride away from this ugly-looking crash, and both finished the race.
Kory Ellis started off about mid-pack but was quick to move his way through the pack and to the third place position, but he would have to make his way around Jeff Spooner. Jeremy Schell started off strong but faded during the race and dropped back to the fifth place position. Kory Ellis brought the pressure and was able to make the pass around Spooner for second. Josh Creamer was still leading the class with Kory Ellis running in the two spot. Jeff Spooner ran a good-looking third.
Josh Creamer went on to take the win on his sharp-looking freen and black Monster Energy Kawasaki KFX450 and walked away with a cool $1400. Kory Ellis continued his points leader for the series by taking second place points. Jeff Spooner rounded out the top three respectively.
