FNL Series Round 3 2011

Bling Star’s Keith Carlson made a long trip for the Pro Am class. Keith had one of the most colorful bikes at round 3.

Friday July 29th marked the third round of the new Friday Night Lights ATV Summer Series presented by Triumph Motorsports, and sponsored by DWT, Moto Works, Elka, Leatt, ODI, Blingstar, FLY, Fasst Co, Dio Vonti, Bomb Squad, LSR, STI, GBC Motorsports, PEP Racing Suspension, H&M Motorsports, and ATV Scene.com.

Milestone MX Ranch in Riverside, CA  has generously welcomed ATV racing back to the track with the FNL ATV Summer Series. Without such a great place to race FNL’s success would not be possible. The Milestone staff has done a phenomenal job prepping and maintaining the track and the facilities. “The track is open to quads Tuesday and Saturday so stop in a bang out a few laps. Satisfaction is Guaranteed,” says Triumph Motorsports’ Anthony Martin.

PEP Racing Suspension and H&M Motorsports were added as sponsors the week before the round 3. Together they put together a handy $100 bill for the rider who earned the holeshot in each moto.

Now on to FNL Round 3 highlights…

ImagePEP’s Ron Baker (seen here with Quad Tech’s Billy Pointer and Ron Flaczinki) came out to check out the great FNL racing.

ImageThere was plenty to check out on vendor’s row.

ImageOscar Franco of WPS / Fly Racing was in attendance. Oscar was on hand to display the 2012 Fly Racing gear. It was definitely a hit, because every time we looked over he seemed to be swamped with interested people.

ImageKory Ellis of GBC Motorsports has been trackside for GBC since they came on as a sponsor. Kory was busy answering questions about the new Bomb Squad Tires, which GBC makes exclusively. Kory proved the tires work well by scoring a perfect 1-1 in the Pro Am class.

ImageRound 3 was the first round that included a mini class. Even though the release was short notice the mini turn out was good. Enough mini’s showed to give each other a little battle.

ImageGerardo Sepulveda, now riding in the Pro Am ranks, has come a long way since his amateur days just a year ago.

ImageAnother great tradition of the FNL Series is the GBC’s tire giveaway. Every round GBC gives a set of tires away to a random class-winner for the first moto. Ed Franco took home the Bomb Squad Tires from GBC Motorsports by winning the Vet 30 class earlier.

ImageMCR / Maxxis David Haagsma took both holeshot awards home that night. Combined with a Pro win of 100% payback Davi made some decent money.

ImageTriumph Motorsports’ Daniel Palacios currently sits 3rd in points in the Pro Am class. Daniel has been charging all series! The FNL ATV Series is a great program that continues to gain momentum. The next and final round of the inaugural Friday Night Lights ATV Series will be on August 12th. Sign up is at 5pm, practice at 6pm and racing starts at 7pm. Entry is only $20 per class. A whopping $2000 worth of amateur prizes will be awarded along with podium presented overall series points trophies. If you’re anywhere near Riverside, CA, by all means try to come out and support this new up and coming series developed for racers by racers.

And, with the success of the FNL Summer Series, stay tuned for details on a Winter Series.
