It was back in December when 6 and 12 Hours of ATV America referee, Tom Prendergast, suggested the Midwest Motorsports Kahoka, MO location for Fast-Trak Promo’s missing 6 Hours of ATV America venue. Tom informed us that Mike Burkhart had done a lot with this place. “He’s got a beautiful all natural motocross track, tons of good cross country terrain, open fields and excellent pits. You can’t go wrong”, said Tom – our 6 and 12 Hours of ATV America’s right hand man.

That’s all it took. Tom’s word is all we needed. Much to our delight, the facility was just as Tom described it. What’s more is Mr. Burkhart rose to the occasion of proved that he appreciated having a round on the 6 Hours schedule by leaving no minor detail left undone. Much to the surprise of a few teams, the pits even offered electric and water hookups. How cool is that?

Getting the most seat time for his forty bucks was Ryan Smith. More than likely Smith of Palatine, IL will own the record for most laps ever completed in a 6 Hours of America event. Amazingly Ryan logged a whopping 29 laps in his Ironman outing! The winning pro team finished with 36.

It was a picture perfect day for racing. Rain a few days earlier combined with a good topping of saw dust on the motocross track kept dust to a minimum. The majority of the track featured never-been-ridden terrain, (a cross country rider favorite). Several of the twenty teams that competed commented on the perfect mixture of cross country agility, motocross stamina and TT-style high-speed bravery. Last but not least, for the first time in 6 and 12 Hours of ATV America history each and every team that started the event finished it.

The twenty-some no show teams truly missed a great event. Most agreed that next year’s 6 Hours of Missouri attendance will surely double. If 6 Hours history repeats itself, they will be correct as this year’s Texas and Georgia stops on the six round series both doubled in team entry.

In our opinion the start of the 6 and 12 Hours of ATV America is the coolest and most exciting of any ATV event.

Congrats Team Gilman Racing (Troy Holmes, Adam Burrows and Brandon Hunter) for taking home the gold in the A class. Remember each winning 6 Hours team earns FREE entry to the 12 Hours event in October! A generous and never-been-done-before gesture if we do say so our selves.

Team "Smackover Motorsports" lays the smack down in Missouri. These guys made the long haul from Arkansas. The team finished with a respectable fourth place in the B class.

Granite City, Missouri's Devon Jarrett and Donnlie Shrum pulled off the unthinkable. They were racing in the new 13-15 youth class, but the two 14 year olds finished up 7th overall! At one point they were racing for fourth place.

This little girl, Taylor Chance, teamed up with Bradley Burrows of Gilman City, MO and rode the wheels of a Honda 300EX. Our first two person boy/girl team showed major heart and finished with 27 laps and 17 place overall.

Way to go Kim Muzzavelli of Washington, IL! Kim and the two thorns of John Glann and Henery Linlex of "Team Rose Between Two Thorns" rode their butts off. Not only did they take their Kawasaki KFX400 to first place honors in the +30 class - they took home a top five overall! Impressive day to say the least.
