Tim Farr (Honda/DG/Baldwin/Sparks/PEP), steered his red Honda 450R past the sea of blue Yamaha’s to win Honda their first pro main event.

Farr settled for second in early heat race action as California’s Dana Creech (danacreechracing.com) took the win. Kory Ellis (Alba/atvscene.com/Kenda/Fox) easily won his heat race, the fastest of the two, and advanced to the inside position on the front line of the main event. Points leader, Keith Little was leading his heat race when he had to pull to a stop when a rock lodged in his front brake caliper.

Ellis clocked in as the fastest qualifier but couldn't hold off Farr's pressure in the main.

This photo of Farr and Ellis explains the race perfectly. They raced this close just about the whole time. When it was over they went back to being great friends.

Ellis used this starting spot to catapult himself from the rest of the field. Farr was hot on his heels right from the start. The Ellis/Farr duo rode 1-2 for several laps with Farr pulling along side of Ellis more than once. Farr and trusty mechanic Mark Baldwin seemed to have dialed in their new 450R perfectly. The machine seemed to perform ten times better than it did a few weeks earlier at the Anaheim season opener. Farr read Ellis perfectly and slipped past when Ellis left just an inch un guarded.

In final laps Ellis returned the favor and pulled along side of Farr more than once in an effort to take back his leading position. Farr held his line flawlessly. Along the way to the checkers he collided with a lapped rider but Ellis couldn’t capitalize on the mishap. The victory was Farr’s. Ellis followed close right to the end. Creech rode a smooth smart race to claim third. Fourth place went to an injury free Jason Luburgh (Luburgh Racing/TC). Luber looked clean smooth and fast as did Pat Brown (Lost Creek ATV) who followed in the five spot.
