Triumph Motorsports Summer Series Finale, Lake Elsinore, CA 2006

There wasn’t a Pastrana double back flip on a Rhino to report, but Travis did come out to race the final round of the all ATV and Side X Side Lake Elsinore Summer Series on September 10th. He was spotted at the starting line by some fans, but when the race was over Travis was swarmed by adoring fans.

Travis Pastrana did back flip the Rhino he raced, but spectators enjoyed his company nonetheless.

After the crowd favorite Rhino race Travis took the time to take photos with people and sign autographs. “Having Travis on hand was great,. It shows that the sport is growing and getting attention”, said Triumph’s Anthony Martin., “This was our first year presenting a race series. All in all I think it went well. I feel that all sponsors should be at the races to show support to not only the participants putting the event on, but more importantly the racers. We had an average of 80 riders per race and no complaints from any of them. I think a Fall Series is in order.”

The racers on the West Coast are demonstrating that spectacular ATV racing isnt just reserved for for the East Coast anymore. Heather from Podium Productions, the series scorers, stated that this series had the most committed racers over any series they have been affiliated with. The level of quality ATV racing surely risen on the left coast.

Thanks to Triumph's Summer Series, Rhino racing's roots are deep in the Southern California area and interest is quickly spreading east.

Rhino Revolution
The Rhino class was added half way through series. The Rhino’s brought close to 400 curious spectators track side. What they saw was huge beasts flying through the air. The Rhino’s were actually doing jumps that some novice ATV racers weren’t doing. Rhino racing is definitely here to stay. The Rhino’s were a blast to watch, especially going through all the whoops and jumps, but nothing topped the Stock class Rhinos. With a little more to prove, they tried to go faster than the heavily modified versions and found themselves in sticky situations several times throughout each race, and the crowds ate it up.

Neemia Curtean won the pro championship with his Triumph supported Yamaha YFZ.

Curtean Wins Championship
There were first time racers such as Jaime Ortiz who came out to dominate the 450+ Open C class. Jaime came out to try his hand at racing and found himself having such a great time he didn’t miss one round. Shane Hetrick showed that age is not a factor. He dominated the +30 class with a Yamaha Banshee. Shane will be returning next year with a competitive four stroke.

Triumph Motorsports would like to congratulate there own Pro rider Neemia Curtean. Neemia battled hard all season and won the pro class championship. It wasn’t easy, along the way, Neemia raced such super stars as Jeremy Schell, Jimmy Robinson, Cyle Chislock and Darrell Patton.

Triumph Motorsports thanks all the sponsors that helped the series evolve into a success:
ATV Sport Magazine, Sparks Racing, Bling Star, Herrmann Racing, BKT Tires, Quad Tech, Elka, Streamline, IMS/Roll, VP Fuels, MTA, Hinson Racing, Golden West Cycle, N’Motion, Spy, AC, 74 Motorsports, Alba, I-Shock, Universal and Pinned
