Yamaha’s 2007 Special Edition Sport Quads
- Updated: February 28, 2007
If you’re in the market for a new sport quad you might consider a Special Edition YFZ or Raptor, especially since Yamaha wasn’t content with just adding new colors for 2007. If you purchase a new ’07 SE Yamaha you also get better suspension. The suspension improvements are especially noticed on the Raptor 700R.
Besides the new color schemes visible in the photos on the left, the SE YFZ comes with both high and low speed compression and rebound adjustability versus just high speed found on the standard YFZ.
This year’s new SE Raptor adds a YFZ-style piggyback reservoir with both high and low speed compression and dampening adjustability. Bottom line, you’ll be able to dial in your SE Raptor much better than you can with a standard ’07 Raptor, which comes with no piggy back or low speed compression and rebound adjustment. Also new for the ’07 Raptor is a front brake master cylinder that features an adjustable lever for increased comfort and feel along with a new drilled rear brake disc which reduces weight and improves braking performance.
ATV Scene’s John Pellan recently dune-tested Yamaha’s newest eye-candy during Yamaha’s press intro at Glamis. “I’m loving this new Raptor. The new blue and white Special Edition Raptor is the coolest looking Raptor I’ve ever seen”, says Pellan. “The new Raptor SE allows you to dial in the suspension perfectly. It really makes for one of the best dune quads of all time, and an excellent choice for a guy like me that wants a great all around sport quad that packs a big punch but doesn’t wear you out like a high-performance 450.”
Whether you’re shopping for a fun every day sport performance quad or determining which high performance race quad to pull the trigger on, you simply can’t go wrong in one of Yamaha’s 2007 Special Edition quads.
