Zac Willett, Ready for 2008 Season

By Zac Willett

ImageSilly season is over. The 2008 racing season is here. All of the time off preparing, training and testing new equipment is over. Now it’s time to put my knuckles up and my head down.

I can’t begin to describe how anxious I am to prove myself throughout the entire season. I know it’s going to be a gnarly year due to having so much on our plates, but I wouldn’t want it any other way. I’m contesting the ATVA National Dirt Track Nationals, the NASMOTO Supermoto Nationals, select ATVA and WPSA Motocross events and I also I have a few extra curricular activities up my sleeve that will be noted once the time is closer. The bikes are fresh and have every possible elite component available/not available on them thanks to all the great sponsors I have in my court.

Over the off season I began a new training program with weights to obtain more strength this year. Recently I’ve switched over from the weights to a rigorous cardio regimen. I feel great and more physically prepared than ever. In other words, all command posts are in active and will be ready to strike!

ImageI really appreciate the efforts my sponsors put in for me so I can continue doing what I love, racing my quad. I will continue to strive to go the extra mile and come up with cutting edge ways to help make people more aware of my sponsors and their great products.

The bikes went together relatively smoothly this year and we are testing some new components throughout the year. Duro Tire has released the new softer lighter dirt track tire that I’m sure will be taking over that portion of the market. We have developed several new carbon composite items for the bike as well as upped our light weight titanium stash.

I was elected as the 2007 Dirt Track / Supermoto Pro Rider People’s Choice Award Winner by ATV Sport Magazine. This is the second consecutive year for me to receive this award and I appreciate all those of you who threw your votes my way.

We have also been working in conjunction with Premis Industries and Atomic Effect on a video project. It may even have enough potential to reach the mainstream viewer, if not we already have some killer footage that those of you already in the industry will surely get a kick out of.

The Indy dealer show has come and gone already this year. It’s always a blast at Dealer Expo and it was nice to once again see everyone without a race going on. The majority of the photos you’re seeing here are from that weekend in Indy. We should probably leave the stories we came home from Indy with to ourselves, most end with a modified version of the famous – What Stays in Vegas quote.

ImageSpeaking of Vegas, my first race of the season is going to be killer! It’s not actually in Vegas, but pretty close. It’s in Primm, Nevada. It’s the fourth annual Stateline Supermoto Challenge and will happen on April 4-6. I highly recommend that you hit this event if at all possible. It’s a really a good thing for ATV racing and there’s a ton of fun to be had on and off the track. I especially like the Stateline Supermoto event because it’s one of the few times that I get to travel out west. I fly in on the 2nd and will be there for the long haul.

I’m Planning on getting plenty of track time this year and will be dialed in to bring the win back home to Henderson, Kentucky.

I don’t want to waste anymore of your time with my lackluster attempt of journalism so I will let you flip through a few more of the most recent pictures from my never-ending photo collection.
