Yamaha Special Edition Sports Quads for 2005
- Updated: December 18, 2004
This might go down as my favorite voice mail of all time. It’s short, to the point and oh so sweet, “John. Goons Gone Wild Dune Ride. You coming? Get your butt out here. Hit me back.” It was Yamaha’s Steve Nessl’s invitation to fly out and ride their 2005 Special Edition sport quads, bench race around the camp fire, eat like kings and call a laid out Fleetwood RV home for three days. Was I in? Absolutely! After a season’s worth of watching riders have a blast through the lens of my Canon, it was high time I unleashed myself and suited up to roost some serious sand at the coolest ride spot on earth.
Fellow goon riders in attendance included my good friend Kory Ellis, my bros from ATV Sport Mag, ATV Rider Mag, ATV Action Mag, ATV Television, Off Road.com, Bob and Robby at Fleetwood and of course all the boys at Yamaha. I even got to meet up with my Uncle Brion from AZ. The last time Brion and I rode at Glamis, I was just out of high school. Too cool!
Anyway, thanks to Yamaha, Fleetwood and ATV Sport’s Jesse Wozniak’s evening lead to “The Wall” and back — I was reminded how wonderful God’s gift of life truly is. We all had a complete blast!
Enough talk. Check out the photos and video of Kory and the magazine boys tearing it up and airing it out on some of the coolest sport quads currently available. After you check the footage, I highly suggest you power your computer down and go plan your own dune adventure. After all, that’s the true moral of this little story.
Long live Yamaha’s Banshee. The 2005 Banshee SE looks great murdered out in black.
Adam Campbell and Steve Nessl let the SE Yamies cool off a little.
AC styles for the camera for a change of pace.
Kory goes big, no REAL big…
Who says you have to rough it when at the dunes? Fleetwood certainly doesn’t.
